Mark Callahan is Head of Trading and Portfolio Manager for the Aptus suite of active hedged equity and long vol ETFs. He is a member of the Aptus Investment Committee and handles all institutional equity and derivatives trading, vendor management, operations, and capital market requirements for the funds.
Background & Education
Mark spent 12 years as an agency sell-side Portfolio Trader, Transition Manager, and Derivatives Trader before joining the Aptus team. He managed multi-day rebalancing’s of some of the larger ‘40 Act Target Date Funds in existence across all equity market-caps, both domestic and foreign. He seeded, launched, made markets and executed custom rebalances of ETFs for emerging and large established managers.
Mark graduated with a BBA in Finance from The University of Oklahoma and holds an MSc in Real Estate from UT Arlington.
Outside the Office
Mark was born, raised, and still lives in Dallas. He is married with three daughters and joyfully devotes most of his time and energy to watching them grow. He enjoys HIIT, all forms of music, sprinting, reading, hiking, and learning any/all new things.
