Joseph Sykora is responsible for private fund due diligence for the firm. He also serves as portfolio manager for a number of the firm’s advisor clients, delivering in-depth analysis related to advisor target exposures, high net worth proposals, and regular commentary.
Background & Education
Joseph joined Aptus in 2021 after seven years as co-founder and managing partner of Gallatin Natural Resources, a west Texas mineral & royalty acquisition company. During that stint, Joseph managed a team of landmen tasked with originating deals across multiple domestic oil & gas basins, while also conducting all underwriting due diligence on each acquisition. Prior to Gallatin, he worked as a high yield fixed income analyst covering energy for Sterne, Agee & Leach.
Joseph holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation from the CFA Institute. He graduated with a Masters in Accounting from the University of Alabama where he was a member of the men’s golf team.
Outside the Office
Joseph lives in his native town of Fairhope, AL with his wife, Libby, son, Bobby and daughter, Louise. He enjoys golf and home construction projects and is a member of Eastern Shore Presbyterian Church.
