David is responsible for managing the technical direction of Aptus technology solutions and enforcing best practices and standards.
Background & Education
David was formerly CTO at Shmoop, an award-winning educational technology company that provides courses, test prep, and SEL solutions to thousands of schools and school districts with a reach of over 16 million unique visitors per month. Other experiences include advisory roles to the Vistria Group, a $4 billion Chicago-based private equity fund, and startups such as StoreEase, Fellow, Hearth, Vero, and Seso.
David has a BS and MS in Computer Engineering from Northwestern University.
Outside of the Office
David can be found spending any spare time with his wife and kids doing pretty much whatever the mood strikes them for the day. Any remaining spare time is spent at the gym or in the kitchen. Traveling and experiencing other cultures and perspectives is an intellectual passion for David and his family.
