Jake is responsible for designing and implementing option overlays as well as assisting in the management of ETF strategies.
Background & Education
Jake joined Aptus in early 2025 after spending time as a Portfolio Manager at First Trust Advisors where he helped manage the Custom Options Solutions SMA strategy for clients with concentrated stock positions.
He graduated from Augusta University with a degree in Business Administration where he was a member of the golf team. After graduating, he received his MBA from the University of South Florida while pursuing a career in professional golf.
Outside of the Office
Jake lives in Naples, FL with his wife Kathryn and their identical twin daughters, Penelope and Charlotte. Growing up in Illinois, Jake does not take the Southwest Florida weather for granted. He likes to spend much of his free time outdoors with family and friends. He still enjoys playing golf and is excited to teach his girls the game.
